Recently, I heard a statistic that blew my mind. One child dies every 3 days in the U.S. due to Sudden Cardiac Death. That’s crazy! And worst of all, most of those deaths could have been prevented with a simple test, An EKG or electrocardiogram. I have several friends who have taken their boys to have the test done at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where they’re offering them FOR FREE! I decided to give it try. I visited the hospital with our son, Andres and was truly surprised by how quick and easy the whole process was. Take a look:
It was very nice meeting Dr. Rossi. While I was speaking with him, I kept thinking, “what a nice doctor”. He told me how happy he is to be able to help so many children and give peace of mind to their parents. On our way out, he showed me a stack of EKGs he had in his “to do box” just outside his office. Before leaving the office, every day, he reviews several EKGs, FOR FREE. Thankfully, Andres’ test showed he has a very healthy heart. I’m a happy Mom. We celebrated with ice cream, of course.
If you have a child who plays sports or is very active, you should consider making an appointment for an EKG. I called (855) 624-3547. Once you’re done, pick your favorite ice-cream shop and make it a great day!
